Pachmarhi, popularly known as 'Satpura ki Rani' (Queen of Satpura) sits beautifully amidst the Satpura range. Pachmarhi gets its name from Hindi words ‘Pach’ (five) and ‘Marhi’ (caves). The history of Pachmarhi dates back to the Mahabharata era. Legend has it that the Pandavas excavated these 5 caves for their shelter when they were passing through Pachmarhi during their fourteen years of exile.
