Upon arrival at Khajuraho transfer to hotel. Later visit the sound and light show at the Western Group of temples (optional). The 50‑minute show recounts the life and times of the Chandela kings and the story of these exquisite temples from the 10th century to the present day. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast, visit the Western and Eastern Group of Temples in Khajuraho. The Western Group houses some of the most famous temples such as Kandariya Mahadev. About a kilometre away, the Eastern Group near Khajar Sagar and the old village features an ancient Hanuman statue that is still worshipped today. Afternoon at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Orchha. En‑route explore Phool Bagh, the Orchha fort complex, Laxminarayan Temple, the royal cenotaphs (chhatris) and Raja Ram Temple. Optional river rafting can be arranged (at own cost). Check in and overnight stay at the hotel in Orchha.
After breakfast, drive to Gwalior. On the way visit the Government Museum housing numerous artefacts and the imposing Jhansi Fort built in 1613 by Raja Bir Singh Deo. Arrive in Gwalior, check in to your hotel and, time permitting, visit the tombs of Tansen and Gaus Mohammad. Enjoy local shopping and overnight stay at Gwalior.
After breakfast, explore the highlights of Gwalior including the Saas Bahu Temple, Sun Temple, Suraj Kund, Teli Mandir, Gwalior Fort, Gujari Mahal and the opulent Jai Vilas Palace which now houses the Scindia Museum. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Gwalior Railway Station for your onward journey.
